Genre: Country-inspired Prog Rock

moe. is a legendary name in jam-heavy, well scripted live rock performances. While bands like Phish tend to improvise large portions of their show, moe. finds a balance closer to lengthy pre-planned arrangements similar to the heyday of the Grateful Dead. The five-member troupe has a unique ability to hold their collective energy at the peak of a jam for five, ten, even twenty minutes during an extended piece, challenging the crowd to keep pace (see video 2 below). They'll be in Boston this weekend, followed by a west coast run a bit later this year. They're absolutely worth seeing live.
